School sessions in Philosophy

The Philosophy department would like to offer school taster sessions. These would comprise a mock lecture/seminar (focusing on a topic relevant to A level philosophy/religious studies students) and an opportunity to talk with Philosophy staff about philosophy in general and philosophy at Lincoln in particular.

School sessions offered by the Philosophy staff include the following:

  • The Problem of Evil in Contemporary Philosophy
  • Arguments for the existence of God
  • The problem of personal identity
  • Freedom and moral responsibility

The sessions last an hour and are bookable by contacting the Lincoln School of Humanities and Heritage Schools Liaison Officer, Dr Alyson Wharton: awharton@lincoln.ac.uk

They are geared towards students who will be applying for University over the next two years (i.e. Years 11 to 13). No prior knowledge of Philosophy is required.
